Inverness

Hi there. As you maybe remember I said we'd do this sightseeing/museum day teh day before yesterday (...), that was quite interesting actually but I guess going to Inverness would beat that. XD

So the train from Edinburgh Waverely (muahhaha Jenny ;) would depart at 6.40 and I got up at 5.20. But surprisingly it wasn't that hard to get up, I was then dead tired at the train but that's another story XD.
We had to change train once in Perth (photo 1) but otherwise the trip was quite pleasant.

We arrived in Inverness about 10.30 and we went straight to the tourist info centre to make our first interview. The bus for Drumnadrochit would leave at 11.30 so we had a bit of time to go around in the city. Inverness is a really nice quite modern city, for being a small city it still had great shopping. (Mahaha, they had Primark I mean Edinbrugh doesn't even have that! XD)

11.30 we took the local bus out to Drumnadrochit. It's here where the Loch Ness monster exhibition is. When we arrived in Drumnadrochit it we got ourselves quite a shock. I knew personally that it wasn't a big city, but I thought it was like a small town.
No people, Drumnadrochit is the village is all villages, or if you even can call it a village since it's so small. It was literally 6 houses along the freeway and a supermarket. Then a big up from there was the hotel and Loch Ness exhibition centre. We joke alot about that Svedala (suburb to Malmö) is the country, but that is like a metropolitan compared to this hole (håla XD).

4 of the 6 houses in Drumnadrochit

We had an interview 2 o'clock so we thought that we'd hand out the questionnaries until then. But as deserted this "village" was (så hålig som denna hålan var) there were not much people. So we had to jump at every single person we saw, at most I think we were up at 5 people per hour. Then it started to rain, it was dreadful! XD
It somehow managed to stand it until 2 o'clock when we got in contact with our interview person by phone. He was still a bit busy so he recommended us to watch (take,go) the exhibition for the present. We went in, it was dark and scary. There were 6 different rooms and in each there was a video to watch, it wasn't more than that. Afterwards we finally did the interview and the guy was very nice and helpful. when we were done we realized it wasn't until more than an hour to the next bus back to Inverness. So we had to sit and mould at the café for 1 hour.

When we left the hole of all holes, 15.55, we had 26 filled questionnaires, which I'm still surprised that we managed to get. The remaining 4 questionnaires we handed out in Inverness (the civilization). So now we had about 5 hours before the departure (20.10) of the train back to Edinburgh. I was glad that we could do shopping the rest of the time now. But I had to rethink that when the shops closed at 7 and my feet ached. we waited around in the trainstation for more than one hour before boarding. Dreadful.

From there it was another 4 hours before coming home. All in all, it was a quite pleasant trip. we got to see the Loch ness, the Scottish stereotype landscape, snow, a very nice city (Inverness) and did some great shopping. It was much tiring but nice. :)
